About

A small IT outfit, run like one.

Streamline Technology Services handles computer repair and IT support for businesses and households across the Las Vegas valley. On site, by collecting the machine, or remotely over a screen share. The rates are published, the consult is free, and you will be told on the phone if what you need isn't something we do.

Who you're calling

David Fisk.

David runs Streamline Technology Services. Customers who wrote about their experience named him doing the work, which is the same arrangement today: the person who picks up the phone is the person who diagnoses the problem and fixes it.

Nothing is lost in a handover, because there isn't one.

Rather than describe him ourselves, here is how two customers did, in reviews still public on Google.

I am so grateful that a friend recommended David to me when I had computer issues. David has now been my computer tech for years. Thank you David for being there for me.

I have trusted David to remotely take care of my personal laptop. I know it is hard to give someone that kind of control, but I had no worries at all with David.

What we actually are.

A small operation, not a managed service provider with a sales floor. The work is ordinary and it is most of what a small business or a household actually needs: a machine that has stopped, software that won't behave, a drive that is failing, a network that covers one room properly and the next one badly.

That shapes what this is good at. A company with fifty staff and a compliance department should hire somebody else. A business with a handful of people, no IT person, and no appetite for hiring one is exactly who this is for, and so is anybody with a single computer that matters to them.

It also shapes what you get. Nobody is upselling you a monitoring contract to hit a quota, because there is no quota and there is no contract on offer.

Four things we do differently, and why.

The prices are on the website

Most IT companies hide an hourly rate behind a form. That means booking a call to learn something that fits on one line, and most people simply leave instead. Publishing the number means the people who call already know it.

You talk to the person doing the work

There is no queue, no ticket number and no account manager relaying your problem to somebody else. The conversation that diagnoses the job is the same conversation that does it.

You're told when we're the wrong answer

Some problems need a specialist facility, and some aren't worth repairing at all. Saying so costs us a job and saves you a bill, and it is the reason people come back.

Access is yours to give and take back

Remote sessions only run while you're watching. You install the software, you read out a code that changes every time, and you can end it whenever you like. No standing access is left behind.

Every review on the profile is a five-star one, and the same things come up in them: fair prices, being trusted with the machine, and patience with people who aren't technical. They're also mostly from 2017, which we show rather than hide.

On-site and pickup cover the valley. Remote support has no geography attached to it, so if the problem is solvable over a screen share, where you are doesn't matter.

How to reach us

Common questions

What people ask before handing over a machine.

Who will actually be working on my computer?
David Fisk. Streamline Technology Services is a one-person business, so the person who answers the phone is the person who does the work and the person who calls you back. You are not handed between a salesperson, a dispatcher and a technician.
How do I know what it will cost before I commit?
The rates are published on this site rather than quoted after a call: $50 an hour on-site, $60 flat rate for pickup, and $12.50 per fifteen minutes remote. The consult itself is free, so you can describe the problem and hear which rate applies before you agree to anything.
What happens if you can't fix it?
You get told. Some faults cannot be diagnosed until the machine has been examined and some cannot be repaired at all, and where that becomes clear you are told rather than billed for an open-ended investigation. Where a job needs a specialist facility, such as a physically damaged drive, the answer is a referral rather than an attempt.
Why are your prices on the website when most IT companies make you call?
Because the first thing anybody wants to know is what an hour costs, and making that a reward for sitting through a sales call wastes both our time. The rates are on the pricing page. If the work is not something Streamline Technology Services should take on, you get told that on the phone rather than after the machine has been collected.

Describe the problem and find out what it takes.

The consult is free, the rates are published, and you will get a straight answer about whether this is worth fixing.
