Call

Pricing

Three numbers, in public.

On-site work is $50 an hour, flat-rate pickup is $60, and remote support is $12.50 per fifteen minutes. Which one applies depends on whether the problem needs hands on the hardware. There is no discovery call standing between you and those figures.

Hardware, the building, a machine that won't start

  • On-site $50 per hour
  • Pickup $60 flat rate

Someone has to be present, or the machine has to come to us.

If you can't tell which side you're on, that is what the free consult is for. It is usually clear within a couple of minutes on the phone.

Working out which one you need.

You don't have to get this right before calling. It is the first thing the consult settles.

Remote: $12.50 per 15 min
Software, email, accounts, cloud services and most virus removal, provided the machine still starts. Billed in quarter-hours, so a ten-minute fix costs like one. How a session runs.
On-site: $50 per hour
Anything involving the building itself. Network and wifi work is the clearest case, because the walls are part of the problem. Also right when several machines need attention in one visit. Network design.
Pickup: $60 flat rate
Work measured in hours rather than minutes: replacing a drive, a clean reinstall, a machine that won't start. Flat rate, so a long job doesn't become an open-ended one. Computer repair.

Common questions

About the numbers, and what sits behind them.

Why publish rates when most IT companies don't?
Because the alternative wastes everybody's time. Hiding an hourly rate behind a form means a visitor has to book a call to learn something that fits in one line, and most simply leave instead. Publishing it means the people who call already know the number and are calling about the work.
Which rate applies to my problem?
It depends on whether hands are needed on the hardware. Software, accounts and cloud problems are usually remote at $12.50 per fifteen minutes. Anything involving the building, meaning networks and wifi, is on-site at $50 an hour. Work that takes hours rather than minutes, like replacing a drive, usually suits the $60 flat-rate pickup.
Is there a minimum charge or a call-out fee?
Nothing beyond the three published rates is stated on the client's current site, so nothing further is claimed here. Any minimum, travel policy or after-hours arrangement is worth confirming on the free consult before work is booked, and you will get a straight answer rather than a surprise on an invoice.
Are parts included in the rates?
No. The rates cover labour. If a repair needs a part, such as a drive, memory or a battery, that is a separate cost, and it is discussed and agreed before anything is ordered. You won't find hardware added to an invoice you didn't approve.
Do I need a contract or a monthly plan?
Not for repair work: it is priced per job with nothing to sign. If you're a business wanting an ongoing arrangement rather than calling each time something breaks, raise it on the consult. That would be agreed with you directly rather than taken from a published tier.
How do I pay?
By card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Zelle or Venmo. There is no requirement to set up an account or a payment profile in advance.
Is the consult really free?
Yes. Describing your problem and being told what it looks like, which of the three ways would suit, and roughly what is involved costs nothing. The rates above apply to work, not to the conversation that decides whether there is any.

The consult costs nothing.

Describe the problem, hear which rate applies and roughly what is involved, then decide.

Not sure which rate

Describe it and we'll tell you.

Say what the machine is doing. You'll hear which of the three rates applies and roughly what's involved, before you commit to anything.
